Greenpeace In Decline Like The AGW Scam They Support

In the Great Global Warming Swindle (when I was a co2 believer) I remember balking at the description of green groups as Marxists – I was aware of the infiltration by ‘market forces’ especially at Greenpeace. I still don’t think they are Marxists per say, but rather adherents to ‘government Marxism’ (socialism for the few a la bank bailouts) I do not balk at. They are a joke.

I’m glad I never gave these ‘fascists’ any monies to fund their carbon ‘indulgences’ at the expense of those they claim to speak for. Green hypocrisy at its worst.

Dr Patrick Moore “They have a whole fleet of ships, pretending the $32 million Rainbow Warrior III is powered by the wind when it has two large diesel engines for propulsion. I like to joke that when we first sailed against US hydrogen bomb testing in Alaska we did not have a nuclear weapon on board." Dr Patrick Moore “They have a whole fleet of ships, pretending the $32 million Rainbow Warrior III is powered by the wind when it has two large diesel engines for propulsion. I like to joke that when we first sailed against US hydrogen bomb testing in Alaska we did not have a nuclear weapon on board.”

Things have not been going well for environmental NGO Greenpeace in the last few months, there was the insanely stupid attempt to interfere with Gazprom operations in the Arctic, which led to the Arctic 30 enjoying the hospitality of the Russian penal system for a few months. Greenpeace also lost a ship, the Arctic Sunrise which is still impounded in the Russian port of Murmansk, and likely to be there until it rusts away and sinks, or ends life as a towed target for the Russian Navy.

IPCC Method Of Proving The ‘Human Caused Warming’ (AGW) Hypothesis Forced Deliberate Creation of Misinformation

Includes Dr Ball’s discussions with HH Lamb.

Watts Up With That?

Guest essay by Dr. Tim Ball

“Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right, from the frame of their nature, to knowledge, as their great Creator, who does nothing in vain, has given them understandings, and a desire to know; but besides this, they have a right, an indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible, divine right to that most dreaded and envied kind of knowledge; I mean, of the characters and conduct of their rulers.” John Adams, Dissertation on Canon and Feudal Law, 1765

The 2001 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report included evidence in the form of a hockey stick graph, showing that the Medieval Warm Period (MWP) did not exist. Less prominent, but just as wrong, was erasure of the Little Ice Age (LIA). Proponents of the IPCC hypothesis that human CO2 is causing global warming were mainly connected with…

GHCN – South America, Andes? What Andes?

The problems with station data and smearing red ‘heat’ all over maps is long known as this post from Chiefio in 2011 shows (there are lots more there).

Musings from the Chiefio

White, Green, or Brown? Decisions Decisions

South American Andes

Andes? What Andes?

Looking at South America by altitude is complicated by all that Brazilian low land. You get a better view when you look “Country by Country”. And there are some strange things going on in those countries with The Andes running through them. There is a general movement out of the mountains and toward the beach. But is there anything particularly surprising?

Yes.

Bolivia. It is that big block of elevated ‘whitish’ toward the top of the image. A very high elevation country, with no beach. What to do, what to do… How about “Nuke Bolivia?”

Nuke Bolivia?

Weather Underground can still find Bolivia, wonder why GHCN can’t?

Luling Keeps Changing

NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

By Paul Homewood

Tim Channon comments about the temperature adjustments at Luling:

Some of the Luling observer sheets are online at the Lulling farm web site. I assume this gives independence from NCDC and is therefore the original.

Picking up one I archived online, Jan 2011, calculated the mean by hand.

I make it 8.11C

First sheet you show 899E
Second sheet 893E

Oh what fun.

https://notalotofpeopleknowthat.wordpress.com/2014/06/29/more-news-on-ushcn-temperature-adjustments/#comment-26029

This is confirmed by the station record.

The mean measured was 46.6F, = 8.11C.

As Tim points out, the USHCN version was 8.99C on Friday.

Come back tomorrow, and I have no doubt it will have changed again.

Apparently this is “good science.”

Night Of The Living Infillers

Real Climate Science

Zeke just can’t grasp what he is doing wrong. Around 1990, USHCN started losing a lot of mainly rural stations. Using their clever infilling and gridding, they turned those disappearing stations into urban stations – which created a huge spurious warming trend.

Zeke likes the meaningless green line.

The Blackboard » How not to calculate temperatures, part 3

See the graph below. Essentially all of the warming since 1990 is due to fabricated (no underlying temperature records) data shown below in green – which strongly hints at cooler rural stations being lost, and their missing data being replaced by infilled urban data.

This is so blatantly obvious, that only a temperature expert couldn’t grasp it.

ScreenHunter_297 Jun. 05 06.17

It is like dealing with anomaly/infilling/gridding zombies. Do they actually think that their large spike in temperatures after 1990, coinciding with their large spike in lost (mainly rural) stations – was coincidence?

The scientific method is at work on the USHCN temperature data set

Watts Up With That?

Temperature is such a simple finite thing. It is amazing how complex people can make it.

commenter and friend of WUWT, ossqss at Judith Curry’s blog

Sometimes, you can believe you are entirely right while simultaneously believing that you’ve done due diligence. That’s what confirmation bias is all about. In this case, a whole bunch of people, including me, got a severe case of it.

I’m talking about the claim made by Steve Goddard that 40% of the USHCN data is “fabricated”. which I and few other people thought was clearly wrong.

Dr. Judith Curry and I have been conversing a lot via email over the past two days, and she has written an illuminating essay that explores the issue raised by Goddard and the sociology going on. See her essay:

The ‘Gore Effect’ Strikes Downunder

Watts Up With That?

Craig Kelly, MP writes:

With Al Gore visiting Canberra today, it’s little surprise that the ‘Al Gore Effect’ has struck again.

The ‘Al Gore Effect’ is defined by the Urban Dictionary as;

“the phenomenon that leads to unseasonably cold temperatures, driving rain, hail, or snow whenever Al Gore visits an area to discuss global warming.”

John Holdren: Abuse of Office, Power, and Science for a Political Agenda

Essential reading as always from Dr Ball.

Watts Up With That?

Guest opinion by Dr. Tim Ball

Recently, in reply to a charge that John Holdren made false claims about climate change by Sam Kazman of the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI), the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) ruled he was expressing his “personal opinion” not “a comprehensive review of the scientific literature”. The charge is correct and the ruling false. It may be his personal opinion, but it was given from the White House in his position as adviser to the President.

Green Hypocrisy

As per Christine Lagarde ‘Do as I say, not as I do’!

NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

By Paul Homewood

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/10920198/Greenpeace-executive-flies-250-miles-to-work.html

The Telegraph report:

One of Greenpeace’s most senior executives commutes 250 miles to work by plane, despite the environmental group’s campaign to curb air travel, it has emerged.

Pascal Husting, Greenpeace International’s international programme director, said he began “commuting between Luxembourg and Amsterdam” when he took the job in 2012 and currently made the round trip about twice a month.

The flights, at 250 euros for a round trip, are funded by Greenpeace, despite its campaign to curb “the growth in aviation”, which it says “is ruining our chances of stopping dangerous climate change”.

One Greenpeace volunteer on Monday described Mr Husting’s travel arrangements as “almost unbelievable”.

Another said they were cancelling their payments to support Greenpeace in the wake of the disclosure and series of other damaging revelations of of disarray and financial mismanagement at the organisation, in documents leaked to the Guardian newspaper.
