Europe’s Escape from Winter

It has been a long winter in Europe, one that came in stronger and stronger waves. Summer is clearly on the way as the warm colours creep in, but I wouldn’t rule out a few Southerly dips in the jet stream dragging temperatures down. As it is the typically British summer spell the past week has led to the CET being below 0.4DegC (as of 7th June) which is against the 1961-1990 reference period. Not a heatwave, but compared to winter and spring it is welcome.
